Summer Accessories!
Neutrals like gray, black, white, and cream are my go-to colors. I love to enhance them with a splash of color and texture for summer, which complements without overpowering. The Peachy Keen Shawl epitomizes that splash of color! It’s a crochet triangle shawl that’s light enough to drape over your neck and ample enough to serve as a shawl over your shoulders in a chilly room. Plus, simple stitches make it a breeze for beginners to create a fabulous piece for their summer collection!

Crochet Triangle Shawl Design and Inspiration
It’s been a while since I’ve designed a crochet triangle shawl, with my last shawl being the Evening Primrose Shawl released in May 2023. This design also featured hand-dyed sport-weight yarn, perfect for the warmer seasons and beyond. Triangle shawls are so versatile, offering numerous styling options. The finished dimensions of this shawl make it ideal for draping over the shoulders, while the sport-weight yarn ensures it remains light and non-bulky, even when worn around the neck. What I adore most about this design is its vibrant color gradient. The bright, summery hues blend seamlessly, culminating in a breathtaking shawl and I was certain they’d be the perfect match for my vision. Truly, this design is Peachy Keen!

Using Hand-Dyed Yarn for The Peachy Keen Shawl
I can’t help but love hand-dyed yarn and its lovely to see all the colors lined up on my shelves. It’s the artistry in each colorway that captivates me, like choosing colors for a painting. My go-to crochet projects with these yarns are accessories such as scarves, wraps, and shawls. A few skeins are enough to craft a breathtaking, unique item that’s bound to draw attention. The Peachy Keen Shawl uses sport-weight yarn from Montana Crochet, one of my favorite independent yarn dyers. The four colorways I’ve chosen are from their Blooms Collection, launched earlier this year. Although these particular shades were exclusive and aren’t available anymore, there’s no shortage of independent dyers with new collections or ready-to-ship yarn.
This is my third design featuring Montana Crochet yarn, check out the Embers Shawl and the Deep Woods Scarf! These are special and unique projects to me, and the allure of hand-dyed yarn lies in the distinctiveness of every project you complete with it. I can’t wait to see what color combinations you choose for your project, get started today!

Gauge is not particularly important for this project as long as the drape of your project is as desired. If the shawl is stiff and the stitches are working too tightly, consider going up a half or whole hook size.

PATTERN NOTES:
- There is no wrong side or right side to this reversible triangle crochet shawl.
- The shawl is created by increasing each row by six total stitches. Increases are worked at the beginning and end of each row.
- The shawl is worked in an eight-row repeat, switching colors as indicated in the provided chart.
- The shawl is finished with a feminine ruffle detail created by working single crochets and chains into the same space as indicated.
- Blocking your finished shawl is not required, but you may wish to lightly steam block your project if you feel the stitches need to be smoothed out or the ruffle edging is not lying flat.
- Ch 3 does count as a stitch; overall stitch counts are indicated in parentheses ( ) at the end of each indicated row. One puff stitch also counts as a stitch. If ch 1 and ch 2 are to be counted as stitches, that will be indicated in the pattern.
- The shawl is designed with a color fade in mind, beginning with the lightest color fading into the brightest color and then fading back to the first color worked.
- I used the majority of each of the four colorways for this design. Please make sure to purchase additional yarn if you wish to add rows or embellishments like tassels or fringe to your finished shawl.
