Leaves are falling!  Well, at least they are trying their best in our humid North Carolina climate where it’s still mid-80s in the middle of September, but there is most definitely a hint of fall color on the trees!  It may still feel like summer around here for a few more weeks, but September is the start of it all – I can find my favorite pumpkin spice creamer in the grocery store, the nights are a bit cooler, football is back on television and holiday baking shows are starting to premiere. That’s when I start to get excited about FALL.

AUTUMN.

The MOST wonderful time of year (okay, I still love Christmas too but let’s acknowledge that autumn is just the first step on that path . . .).

I love summer yarns and cotton and designing things for warm weather, but now is the time for scarves and throws and sweaters and blankets. I am excited to present the Autumn Fade Infinity Scarf!

The perfect fall accessory!

This easy crochet infinity scarf gets its name from the way the colors blend into each other, and the completed effect is just beautiful.  I used Lion Brand Moroccan Nights for this scarf, which is a CYC #3 lightweight yarn in an ombre-effect colorway that adds a bit of sheen to the finished product.

This is my first project using this yarn, and I love it!  Color speaks to me, and this colorway in Sultan practically yelled at me to use it for a scarf; the burgundy and crimson with the gray and silver accents and fades of muted orange are quintessential fall colors without being too busy.  Pair this infinity scarf with a solid color shirt, your favorite comfy jeans, some big hoop earrings, and boots, and you are ready for Friday night football games and date nights in the chilly fall air!

Looking for another easy scarf to crochet this fall season?? Check out the newest version of the arcade stitch with the Fallen Leaves Scarf, new on the website in October 2022! Using the same easy four-row repeating arcade stitch, this stunning one-of-a-kind accessory features hand-dyed yarn and is a long scarf with fun fringe details.

This scarf is made using the Arcade stitch, and it looks complicated but it’s deceptively simple to work using a four-row repeat of basic stitches with single and double crochet.  It’s such a fun stitch to work, and the scarf came together pretty quickly. I hope you enjoy making this with the free pattern below!
