I love October and all the things this time of year brings! While I tend to lean towards the whimsical side of Halloween, I love the energy that the Halloween season brings, and watching a good horror movie on a Friday night with my daughter and a bowl of popcorn is pretty much perfection. She’s the only one in the house who will watch scary movies with me!
The original design for this crochet triangle scarf used a yarn that has been discontinued, and I thought it was the perfect time to refresh this pattern to slightly adjust the shape and to update the supplies.

About that yarn . . .
I will be honest – orange, in general, is not a color I am drawn to but when I saw this gorgeous hand-dyed colorway (Yes, I Canyon by Hue Loco) I just had to see what could be made with it. This colorway includes all my favorite autumn colors and reminds me of a bright blue sky on a crisp October day, where the changing leaves seem to glow in the afternoon light. It’s perfect for this easy crochet triangle scarf!
Yarn that comes in hanks, like this yarn, rather than balls or skeins will need to be wound into a workable ball, and there is no better way to do this (unless you want to spend an hour unraveling a giant knot) than by using a ball winder and yarn swift. I had no idea this ingenious product even existed, and I cannot believe I have gone this long without one! It’s truly a genius invention and one that I highly recommend.

Of course, you do not have to use hand-dyed yarn for your project, and here are a few alternate yarn options.
